The Classic Formula 3 is governed by a set of regulations designed to ensure fairness, safety, and competitiveness on the track, while preserving the historical spirit of the category. These rules aim to create an environment where drivers can compete in iconic single-seaters while adhering to strict standards.

What is the required weight ?

Type of Car / Weighing Car Only Car (PV) / Weighing Car Only Car + Driver (PV+D)

  • F3 1600 built before 31/12/1973 : PV 440 kg / PV+D : 520 kg
  • F3 2L built before 31/12/1979 : PV440 kg / PV+D : 535 kg
  • F3 2L built after 01/12/1980 : PV 455 kg PV+D : 535 kg

Weighing cars will be organized after each official track session in the
configuration in which the car and its driver are located, regardless
of the quantity of liquids present on board.

Art3 – REGULATION TECHNICAL

What is the required ground clearance ?

A minimum ground clearance of 40 mm under all parts of the car must be controllable at any time when the driver is seated in the car with all his equipment.

Is there a maximum noise level ?

Cars must be fitted with an exhaust silencer. The system and manifolds are optional. Compliance with FFSA noise standards is compulsory.
Measurements will be taken in accordance with the standard regulations for asphalt circuits (103 max).

What are the current regulations regarding driver equipment ?

The current regulation for pilot equipment is that of the FFSA 2025.

What fuel is to be used for the races ?

For the Formula 3 category, the only authorised fuel is SUNOCO 102 CFR. For French rounds: It is mandatory to order it to the Official Supllier via www.hvmracing.fr minimum 15 days before the event.
A maximum of 2% oil may be added for lubrication.

No other additives or mixtures are permitted.

What tires are to be used ?

The current regulation for tyres is Art 7.2 F3 TECHNICAL REGULATION.
